If you love salted caramel, you’re going to love this recipe.
Miso caramel is essentially a salted caramel but with a much larger depth of flavor. And yes, I’m talking about the miso that’s in the soup you get at your favorite sushi restaurant.
I don’t know who came up with this mixture of ingredients, but it works and its phenomenal.
Without further ado, here is the recipe!
Miso Caramel Recipe:
1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Water
3 TBSP Unsalted Butter
1 TBSP White Miso
1/3 C Heavy Cream
In a small saucepan, Combine the sugar and water and simmer on medium heat until the sugar has turned a dark golden brown color.
Stir in the butter and whisk until everything is emulsified. Next, add the white miso and whisk until combined.
Lastly, remove the pan from the heat slowly stream in the heavy cream and stir consistently until everything is mixed in.
Allow to cool slightly then pour into container of your choice.
Try it in your coffee, on pancakes, ice cream, or just about anything you enjoy caramel on!
